Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
TestMastered is designed for use by children under the guidance of their parents or guardians. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- We do not collect personal information directly from children under 13.
- All accounts are created by and belong to parents or guardians.
- Child study profiles contain only a display name (chosen by the parent) and grade level — no real name, school, date of birth, or location.
- Anonymous practice uses only local browser storage (localStorage). No data is sent to our servers for users without accounts.
What We Collect
- Parent accounts: email address, password (hashed), account creation date.
- Child profiles: display name, grade level.
- Practice data: questions attempted, answers selected, accuracy, time spent.
- Anonymous users:no server-side data. All progress is stored in your browser's localStorage.
Third-Party Services
- Vercel: hosting and serverless functions.
- Google Analytics: anonymized usage statistics (no personally identifiable information).
We do not embed YouTube videos or other third-party content that may track users. Video links open in a new tab on the external platform.
Data Retention & Deletion
Account data is retained while the account is active. Parents may request deletion of their account and all associated child profiles and practice data at any time by contacting us.
Anonymous localStorage data can be cleared by the user at any time through their browser settings.

- Review all data associated with your account.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Request export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Refuse further collection of your child's data.
